Being Confident

Hey guys!
Today's blog is about being confident and embracing your 'flaws'.
I think this is quite an important topic for teenagers to talk about because everyone seems to go through it.

For me, it was always my nose. It only took one person to point it out and I was self consious for YEARS afterwards. Also, I have never been confident in an outgoing way and that always frustrated me because it meant more outgoing people thought they could be controlling over me.

But now, I've realised everyone has things they are self conscious about while your body is changing and it's all unfamiliar; so don't spend your time worrying about silly things that in most cases people don't even notice!

I am now happier with how I look and that's makes me 10x more confident. To help become less shy I try to put myself outside my comfort zone like presenting in front of people and trying things I would normally be scared to.

Confidence is the ablity the find beauty in yourself without someone else having to show you

If you're brave enough, comment below something you aren't confident about and what you are going to do to change it!

Liz Earle Review

Hellooo!!
After watching one of my favourite YouTubers Gabby (Velvetgh0st) 's new video, it inspired me to do my own.
For those of you who don't know, Liz Earle is a skin care brand that has a large range of amazing products. I have been a customers for years now and I just wanted to share some of my favourite products with you.

  • Cleanse & Polish Hot Cloth Cleanser: I use this product every single day in the morning and night. Firstly I think it's great to remove any dirt or oils that gather on your skin at night as it gently exfoliates even though it's a super creamy texture. Secondly it smells AMAZING with a herbal scent of Rosemary, Chamomile, Cocoa butter and Eucalyptus oil. Also, I find it is really good at breaking down your makeup at night so you don't need to use lots of different products when it's late.

  • Gentle Face Exfoliator: I use this product every other day instead of the cleanser because it cleans a bit deeper and leaves your face extremely soft. I like to do this at night usually or if I'm not wearing makeup because I like to let my skin breathe afterwards. The scent of this is similar to the cleanser with Eucalyptus, Cocoa Butter and Jojoba Beads.

  • Instant Boost Skin Tonic: I like to use this after the cleanser or exfoliator to pick up anything I may have missed. This contains Aloe Vera, Rose-scented Geranium, Cucumber and Vitamin E. I find it also makes your skin more glowing and healthier looking.

  • Eyebright Soothing Eye Lotion: I use this to either remove any remaining eye makeup or just to cool down and 'brighten' my eyes. It smells strongly of cucumber which I love as its a fresh smell and very soothing on your eyes. It also contains Cornflower, Witch Hazel and Aloe Vera.

  • Brightening Treatment Mask: it does exactly what it says it does. Your skin looks and feels instantly brighter and I use this around once every two weeks as I like to use other masks in between. This is made of White Clay, Witch Hazel and Aloe Vera.

I hope you enjoyed this mini review and really cool if I've possibly persuaded you to look into this brand.

Comment below any Liz Earle products that I didn't mention and you'd recommend!

How to deal with stress

Hellooo!!
This year I will be doing 24 exams for my GCSE's and so I am starting to really feel the stress.
Today I thought I would share with you some tips I have on staying calm and relaxed so the stress doesn't get on top of you!

  1. Doing other things:
This does seem quite obvious but you'd be surprised how many people actually don't set aside time for other things. Although it is important to revise for your exams and the schools tend to put a lot of pressure on this, it is important to do other things that take your mind off of work. For example, I like to go running as often as I can because it clears my head and means I am relaxed when I go to study again. Also, when making a timetable, make sure there is time left for yourself to do fun things like going out with friends.

     2.  Find ways to relax:
Try out things like yoga to release some of your stress. This is actually highly recommended to reduce stress and I  believe it does actually work because like running, it allows you to focus on something else and so makes you calmer.

     3.  Keep things in perspective
It is not the end of the world if you fail!! Sometimes I think people at school give us the wrong idea about our GCSE's and act like they are the most important things in our lives. Don't get me wrong, they are, but only until we start our A-levels or College or a job. You need to remind yourself that even if the worst happens and you failed all your exams, that is not the only thing an employer looks for. As long as you are passionate and have the right personality for a job, you are sure to succeed.

 Thanks for reading my blog
Hope it was helpful to someone out there :-)

Please comment below any tips you use to handle stress as exams are coming up soon! (Ahhhh)

Make Up for School

Hellooo!!
For my first post, I thought I would talk about the makeup I like to wear to school (when I have time to wear any at all!). It is all bought from a drugstore like Boots and is not too expensive so could also be good for someone first set of makeup.

First of all, I like to wear Maybelline New York's BB Cream as it is not as heavy as foundation but still makes you feel like you are wearing something. It also has SPF30 which I think is important to wear on a daily basis to protect your skin.
This costs about £6-8 depending on which store you get it from.

Then I go in with my concealers. I use the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer under my eyes because it's creamy and doesn't dry out my skin like my other concealers would do. The only problem I have  is that even the lighter shades are quite dark for me in the colder months  so I would switch to another brand in this time. Then on spots or blemishes I like to use the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer because it has a lot of coverage.
Both of these are relatively cheap costing around £5 or £6.

Next I use powder to reduce shininess as I have quite oily skin. I am not someone who sees any difference in powders so I just pick up any old one from the drugstore. So, with that in mind, my powder is Rimmel's Clear Complexion Powder and is about £3 to £4. I don't really have much of an opinion on it apart from it does its job.

After that I add a bit of bronzer so I don't look as much like a ghost! I just use a light hand to apply it to the hollows of my cheeks, my temples and forehead, and then brush any spare powder down my nose. I use Maybelline's Dream Sun bronzer that is £5 or £6.

Next I do my eyebrows and do not have any skill or style in doing them I just sort of run the powder through my brow until it looks a bit fuller. I use the collection pallette and really like this because as well as doing eyebrows well, it has good colours for a natural eyeshadow look as well! This retails at £4 from the drugstore.

Then I move into eyeliner to define my eyes a bit more and like to use Rimmel's Exaggerate Waterproof Eyeliner on my water line as it lasts throughout the day and comes out black (not grey like some do). This is around £3 from the drugstore. Also I like to use Soap and Glory's SuperCat Liner on my lid to define my eyes a bit more. I really like this because the tip is a spongy point and so is easy to use and doesn't get ruined/gunky. This is £6 from the drugstore.

After that, I use my Benefit They're Real mascara. This is £20 which is quite expensive for me but I love it and am now on my third one. It really does do everything it says as it seperates your lashes and makes them look long and volumous. If you're even considering buying it, DO IT!

Finally, I use my lip balm which is the Vaseline Queen Bee and this is super moisturising and makes your lips sooooo soft. It was limited edition but honestly it's so good! (Why am I so worked up over Vaseline??) Then I add on top one of these Lip Crayons for a slight colour and I'm good to go!! The pink shade is from Rimmel's Colour Rush collection and the Red is from Bourjois Colour Boost Range. These are both around £7 or £8 and both really sort and moisturising and smell like strawberries!

I hope this has been interesting/helpful
and please comment below any makeup suggestions!!

Starting Something New

Hellooo!!
My name is Gina and today I start my new blog!

I have always loved to write. I've kept a diary on and off for years and it's mostly filled with rubbish only an 8 year old would think is important- like an argument with a friend that started and ended within lunchtime!
But now I have reached the age where I'd like to talk about my (more exciting) interests to an audience. Whether that be one person, or many.

Either way.. I'm reaaally excited to start this new blog :D
